casegoods are crafted from ITTO certified (International Tropical Timber
Organization) plantation grown tropical hardwood solids and veneers. Solid
wood frame, side rails, center support legs and center support bar for
superior strength and durability in every bed frame. The Sustainable Forest
Management Certificate certifies and verifies that production materials
are coming from forests that are well-managed and legally harvested as
defined by a comprehensive list of written regulations and standards to
ensure responcible management for sustainable forests.
Tropical hardwood rubberwood is a member of the maple family of woods
and has a dense grain which helps in the kiln drying process. Rubberwood
itself has very little shrinkage making it one of the more stable construction
materials in furniture manufacturing. Rubberwood plantations are used
to raise the trees, harvest thier latex sap and when the latex producing
cycle of the tree stops it will die. It is then that these trees are havested
and new trees are planted to take their place. This is what makes this
tropical hardwood so eco-friendly. These trees have straight trunks and
can grow as high as 75 feet or more with a diameter of around 3 feet.
